How it works

How we check carers

Before a profile goes live, our team reviews:

  • A South African ID, or a passport with a valid work permit
  • Police clearance status, and the certificate where one is provided
  • Any references the carer gives us
  • The intro video, if one is uploaded

If a carer changes their documents, references or video, the profile is hidden until we have reviewed it again. We still recommend that you interview a carer and check references yourself before hiring.

Your information

Carers' ID documents, passports and permits are only ever seen by our verification team. Families never see them.

Phone numbers are only shared between a family and a carer after the carer accepts a request.
